My surgeon, Dr Dwayne Lay, did amazing job on my torn tendon repair. My nurse Renee and all the staff at Atlanta Center foot and ankle surgery where fabulous! The kind lady at the front desk!! The anesthesiologist was so patient !! They explained everything in detail. Great place! I recommend all of them and this center!
yelper, but wanted to post on Google as well - my experience was that good!
Dr. Richard Mistretta is my doctor and surgeon And this is where we did my surgery.
I was nervous, of course, but as soon as we walked in to the office, I felt comfortable and more relaxed. The front office staff were very nice and welcoming. Thats a good start!
I was called back without much of a wait and was greeted by the nurse, Rene. She was also wonderful and made me feel very comfortable Including a warm blanket. She explained a few more surgery details and what to expect in the process I found very helpful. My doctor, Dr. Mistretta, had explained the process to me at his office but it was really helpful the morning of surgery.
The nurse anesthetist, Brad, came in and introduced himself as well. It's so comforting, (especially before our surgery) to be with people in an office environment, where you can tell they love their jobs!
I was very nervous about waking up during the bunion surgery and shared that with him. His professional explanation helped put me at ease and I felted assured that I was his only priority in that room !!!
That gave me a great comfort level.
The next thing that happened is-- I woke up, it was all over and surgery was a success.
As far as I remember, they all went over the at home instructions with my husband and then we were heading home. The whole process took less than 3 hours.
Another nice thing worth noting is that you park directly in front of the building...and walk in. Very easy access off of Roswell Rd . No parking garage , no ticket taking, just parked and walked in!
Would highly recommend this center (and my Dr ) to others!
Thank you for making this experience pain-free more than one way!!
I had a bunionectomy on my left foot in November. Dr. Tobi Todd performed it and he did an awesome job! I had no complications at all. I had no pain afterwards, to this day. I thought there was something wrong with ME! I'm going back in for the right foot and I hope to have the same experience. The center is really nice and the staff is also!
Had my bunion surgery here and it was a wonderful experience. Especially during these Covid times, I found that the small surgery center where they only do one case at a time was very reassuring. They took the proper precautions and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My surgery went great, I came out and was wheeled straight to my car. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone having foot or ankle surgery. I'm fortunate that my surgeon chose this place for me.
Exceptional staff. I had surgery on my foot in August (2013), and the receptionist, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, the residents, and my doctor, provided me with 100% professional care from the moment I arrived, and the days following. I arrived at 6:30 am and left before noon, but my nurse and anesthesiologist both called me the day after my surgery to check on me, which I thought was so nice. My doctor, Craig Camasta, and his staff have been exceptional. He is a skilled podiatrist, and he hires skilled nurses, front office staff, and the best anesthesiologists in the state! I was terrified to have surgery, but after this stellar experience, I am ready for him to correct my other foot!
Their front office was organized, thorough, easy to deal with, and expedient. I have never waited a shorter time to receive medical treatment.
They accommodated My physician well, and provided her with all she needed.
They gave Me several reminder calls about My appointment, and versed Me on all the financial requirements and how to prepare for My surgery (even though I had already been given a packet describing it).
Finding the center was a cinch. Its location is convenient and simple to access.
Parking is more than adequate and free of course.
At the entrance there are approximately 6 stairs, just beside them is a mechanical lift for the disabled.
I feel that a person in a wheelchair or using another mobility aid would have no trouble making it to the door... unassisted even.
Cell phones are not permitted to be used inside the office/lobby area. I appreciated that. Who wants to hear someone else chatter while you're nervously awaiting surgery?
The facility is impeccably clean, sterile, and moderately modern..
The staff persons were helpful, and always available to answer any questions or do anything required to become more comfortable.
When they saw I had a slightly elevated temperature, they asked Me if I had been feeling well and if I had an idea what the problem might be. They gave me a precautionary super-antibiotic prior to surgery.
They were quite patient and meticulous about finding one of My tiny veins for an I.V.... My veins are notoriously difficult to find and most places end up sticking Me 4-5 times before success. However, this place had success with 2 tries!
Having surgery here was a FAR better experience than having a procedure done at a hospitals surgical center.
Everything was patient-centered, and I felt as though the whole staff were my "team". It helped Me feel confident all would be well.
Even the anesthesiologists were pleasant and actively involved in caring for Me prior and during surgery.
Most patients never even see their anesthesiologist. They're merely a masked face in the O.R
The operating table was well prepared for comfort. There was a cozy bean-bag type top which cradled Me super comfortably, blankets were provided for Me and they even "tucked" Me in.
I awoke immediately after my surgery, I was still in the operating room and they has just finished wrapping My foot. Just outside the O.R. doors is the recovery area. As soon as I was parked there, notable pain hit Me (not mere discomfort) and slowly worsened.
Complaining of the pain in the recovery room was fruitless, no relief was ever offered. They shrugged it off and said "a little discomfort" was normal.
If the option to have your foot/ankle surgery at the facility of your choice is available, I still recommend this center! It's vastly better than the treatment you'd receive at a Hospitals surgical center.
The hospitals are usually impersonal, rushed, and most importantly there is a higher rate of contamination/infection at those places. Yeah, gross. Be safe!
I received 2 "check up" calls from the surgery centers staff within 24 hours of My surgery to see how I was doing.
Financially, it is also far wiser to choose this facility.
If you are concerned about co-pay amounts or perhaps you're paying out of pocket then you NEED to request that your procedure be performed here.
